This workshop will focus on building strength and increasing range of motion for chaturanga. We’ll review the alignment of chaturanga and some of its prerequisites. Then we’ll work through movements that will warm up and condition the body for chaturanga. We’ll also explore some variations and modifications for building up to the pose as well as ideas for working with the pose in the context of a flow sequence.

There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

But let’s be real: Chaturanga is an advanced pose! In this workshop we’ll talk about Chaturanga alignment and its prerequisites. Live Classical Music Recital

We are excited to host a very special event this Saturday night at Yoga Agora. Please join us for a unique opportunity to hear live classical music played by some of New York City’s most talented up-and-coming musicians. We will sit or lay on the floor (with windows open, weather permitting) to relax and listen to music.

This program is being organized through Groupmuse. Since 2013, Groupmuse has been bringing live classical music recitals into local residences. The concept is simple: classical musicians are paired with local hosts to play a private concert. Hosts can invite their friends to create an audience, and everyone enjoys the pleasure of listening to live classical music.

What to bring: The tradition of Groupmuse is to bring your favorite snack and/or drink. Many people bring a bottle of wine. We will have a table set up if you’d like to bring something to share for others. Think of it as a nighttime picnic.

Price: Donation-based. The customary donation is $10, though any amount more or less is welcome. All donations will be given directly to the musicians. This is a great chance to fund local artists!
